Bio

Avril Copeland a Founder and CEO of Innerstrength Ltd., a digital healthcare company based in Dublin and London. With a background in exercise science and physiotherapy, Avril had the idea for Innerstrength while working in the Irish public hospital system. Together with her co-founder/CTO, Greg Balmer, they have built a technology which enables health professionals to prescribe, deliver and monitor personalised interventions of exercise and education, to patients currently living with or at risk of chronic conditions. Their first product to market, TickerFit is currently deployed in multiple sites throughout Ireland and the UK both in primary care, supporting patients at risk of cardiovascular disease, and secondary care in cardiac rehabilitation. TickerFit will begin its first US deployment January 2018. Innerstrength, in association with Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital and University College London, is currently developing a solution to support children living with long-term illnesses. Avril is also a keen sportswoman, having represented Ireland in hockey and expedition adventure racing.
